Challenges

The President found themselves consistently operating in a reactive mode. During peak seasons, their time was consumed either by urgently recruiting short-term hires, navigating through employee documentation, or negotiating with staffing agencies to fill vacant positions at reasonable rates. During non-peak seasons, they were preoccupied with overseeing incoming unemployment claims, reassessing employee policies, and identifying & rectifying potential safety hazards within the warehouse.

Key Challenges: Prioritization and time management. HR-related tasks were becoming increasingly burdensome and time-consuming. Profits were directly linked to the efficiency of product receipt and shipment. Any time diverted from these core activities to manage employees and address safety violations, while essential, translated to lost profits.

Client Feedback

In addition to conducting a comprehensive audit and assuming responsibility for all standard HR functions, Employers Advantage effectively managed, appealed, and represented the company in unemployment hearings. We addressed safety violation claims and collaborated with management to implement necessary corrective actions. Moreover, we successfully eliminated the reliance on external staffing agencies by formulating and executing a Recruiting Strategy tailored to meet the company's seasonal requirements. This not only resulted in substantial cost savings by avoiding agency fees but also contributed to reduced turnover. Achieving these objectives necessitated continuous policy and procedure reassessment, meticulous documentation, and proactive management.

 

The President could then concentrate on the core objective of the business – efficiently moving products – with the confidence that all other aspects were being competently managed behind the scenes.
